:\ almost time to leave already. something which i thought would take almost forever to come is about to happen in just a couple of hours. and soon, i'll be back.

looking back, it hasn't been easy. fun times, tough times, gone through that and more all in the course as a trainee, as a learner. as a teacher even, at times. more than that, making friendships that i know will last at least a very long time, if not a lifetime.

so a phase is about to draw to a close, and another about to begin. life's been fine, nothing to worry about. not as hardworking as i'm supposed to be, but haven't been slacking off that much either. hopefully i'll come back a better soldier, a better person.

something to look forward to i hope :)

yes now i have energy to type, after 14h of sleep! :DD

wasn't too bad, but renting a bike is too damn expensive ($20 for 2h), and i did so anyway, even though most of the time was spent manning my station :\ rather wasted huh. in any case, was pretty fun to lan with the instructors after that. though i swear never to play bf2 again -.- the potential for an hour long game (which happened) is far too brain-draining for it to be risked.

so it's 2 days to taiwan, and i still haven't packed handcarry. wonder how's the weather like there: will i need a jacket? hmm..

actually was planning on going safra mount faber to get a nice jacket, but then ended up playing lan. oh well :\ so i guess i'll take an old one this time round. actually managed to save some money there! :O

even so, planning to blow off quite a sum over there in taiwan. the only question is, what? i suppose i'd get some new parts for my aging desktop, some...interesting t-shirts, and lots of food :D plenty to bring home and around too :)

time really speeds by when not in camp; all too soon its already 9.30. or it may be that because my day started at 12.30, therefore time really sped by, considering its only 9h; compared to my normal 17h of consciousness.

but hell, that 14h sleep was pretty damn worth it :)

for what's going to be the last week in camp before moving out for another 3(-)weeks overseas. not going to be (totally) fun, but i'm sure it'll be memorable.

but before that, there's this week to geth through first. SOC tmr, i don't hold high hopes for that one. then another 2D1N outfield, and then its prep to fly off and then bookout. then cohesion day. then the longest weekend i've had in months, before heading to changi airport for the second time this year. shockingly, that's the most number of times i've been flying off ever since, well, a long time ago. who says being in the saf doesn't give you time off to travel?

travelling off to do what is another question; and it sure as hell isn't to relax (for too long) anyway. short short week!

on another note, yichen's pay is too damn close to mine. with all the nights out and friday bookouts he's getting, makes me want to draw his money and spend it instead of my own, haha. supposedly this will be worthwhile at the end of the journey. i'm beginning to see how its worthwhile, but not entirely convinced yet :\

yesh, home again :)

must remember to write reflections lest something bad happens. i.e confinement or no r&r. tsk, life too relaxing alr, somehow dont really have the willpower tonight to do anything, other than sleep early. at least i still have sunday at home.

its going to be a really short week next week. considering 2d1n of outfield (again), then bookout on wed, cohesion day on thursday, then soon after fly off alr. hoho, finally another long-awaited short week & long weekend. though this time the long weekend extends to 3 weeks in another country ._.

getting bored of sc2 already, nobody online to play :\ makes it kinda dull, i guess after i come back from taiwan the custom maps should have livened up a bit and become more complete? hopefully. then can ensure my money doesn't go to waste. looking forward to breakfast tmr already.

though i really should have put in more effort :\ on a side note, its friday! :D

taiwan is just next week, and all preparations are ramping up. soon to be leaving for a (hopefully) chillier climate, which it will hopefully be, considering its typhoon season. not particularly looking forward to all the back to back exercises - around 10 days of little sleep. not going to be a walk in the park it seems.

can't wait to bookout. latest agenda: to obtain a cheap source of green laser pointers. preferably able to negotiate for discount for bulk order.

another sleep-deprived three days and two nights. at least no need to set up cp, but i suspect there'll be a number of surprises (the unpleasant and hopefully pleasant) to spice up the outfield. i just hope i don't get confined, dont want to miss the second last weekend before taiwan. :\

keeps extending. too much stuff to do before exercise tmr, talc-ing this, preparing that, cutting tape & paper, preparing overlays... so many things.

but all this is to streamline the training in the subsequent days so we can spend more time planning (and sleeping) rather than preparing staff aids we could have done in camp. a worthy investment i'd say.

pretty damn excited about taiwan: preparing to blow off a month's pay (max) over there getting souvenirs and other stuff. primarily food though, wahaha. but will have to watch my fitness, still have to clear soc after i come back. either than or i clear next monday, which is a remote possibility. really remote.

its going to be a swift week, considering that time always appears to pass three times faster outfield. then it'll be briefings for taiwan, and more exams :\ shall sleep early to stock up.

a productive (if unpleasant) sunday spent in camp. farmed almost a thousand coal, and done quite a bit of other random stuff for the upcoming exercise. the reporting every two hours really did throw a spanner into the works though, no time for anything really useful (read: sleep for over 4 hrs), therefore no sleep gained in prep for outfield II this week.

not that i'd have slept any more at home, haha. but at least i'd have slept and woken up 3 hrs later.

have to resume training already; no time to waste :\ taiwan is looming ahead now (not over the horizon anymore), and i'd better be in some form of physical shape before i even try to take on the exercises there.

not to mention still no clear soc :\ like that i'll be in deep deep trouble already.

who could have imagined 24km would be so painful. for some reason, this particular one was worse than the two before, even though i could swear that the weight's almost the same. literally struggling to put one foot in front of the other; and that was only after 12km. something's really wrong here.

ugh, feeling miserable. need better padding for my boots, i think i've worn the soles of my feed to the flesh already.

i don't think i'll be able to sleep off this one.
